Underglaze is a concentrated type of coloured glaze that's generally used for decorating pottery, and perfect for intricate designs as opposed to glaze.
Underglaze is gets applied to the clay before transparent is applied over the top. The transparent glaze is required to make the piece become food safe, with a glossy clear finish, allowing your underglaze colours to stand out.
